Scopes range from specialist carpentry within a larger renovation to coordinated work on a room or building. Responsibilities are defined around the needs of each project.

A clear scope provides direction. Site investigation, design development, and practical decisions give it the detail needed for construction. The depth of each stage depends on the project.
An inquiry establishes the location, intended work, priorities, approximate budget, and timing. Photographs and any existing drawings help describe the space and determine an appropriate next step.
Where appropriate, a site visit and measurements establish the constraints: existing construction, access, retained elements, and connections to adjacent work. Questions that need further investigation are identified before assumptions become part of the scope.
Layout, materials, and key details are worked through with the client. Drawings or models are used where they clarify a decision. The proposal defines the work, responsibilities, pricing basis, and what remains to be resolved. Any separate planning or design-development work is agreed before it begins.
Once the scope is agreed, procurement, fabrication, site work, and trade coordination are sequenced around the project. Details are checked against actual conditions as work proceeds. Discoveries or requested changes are reviewed for their effect on scope, cost, and timing before the affected work moves forward.
A final review addresses fit, finish, and remaining items. Relevant care requirements and access to serviceable components are explained so the work can be maintained and repaired over time.
Working relationships
Direct commissions with homeowners and specialist scopes for contractors, architects, and other project collaborators are both part of the practice. The extent of design development, fabrication, installation, and coordination is established for each undertaking.
Material choices favor durability, repair, and reuse. Solid wood, mineral materials, and metals are considered alongside modern products where their performance serves the assembly.
